Pallet Shuttle System – Description – Dexion Pallet Racking

Dexion’s Pallet Shuttle System is a semi-auto­mated storage solution for the handling of goods inside chan­nels similar to a drive-in setup. The Pallet Shuttle System removes the need for forklift trucks to enter the aisles and hence offers a cost effective and time saving storage solution.

All handling of the goods within the chan­nels is carried out using the Pallet Shuttle which is remotely controlled by the user. Handling of the pallets outside of the rack is conducted using standard forklift trucks. This therefore removes the need for a forklift truck to access the storage channel.

Dexion Pallet Racking Shuttle System

The pallets are placed on an Pallet Shuttle (a battery powered pallet cart) which carries the pallets into the rack.

The Pallet Shuttle System can work either as FIFO or as LIFO, so it is a highly efficient alternative to Live storage and Drive-In Racking in such situations as:

  • Cold Storage
  • Food Production
  • Meat Processing
  • Beverage Production and Distribution
  • All Drive-In / Drive-Through Racking users

Saving time is obvious as a forklift truck does not need to enter the storage channel. The time required to position the pallets perfectly at the picking face or to retrieve the pallets is automatically handled by the Pallet Shuttle System, hence increasing the speed substantially.

Saving space is important. Since the forklift trucks does not need to access the aisle, all channels can be fully utilised at all times providing extra storage space. The Pallet Shuttle System offers high density and a more effective storage method.

Pallet Shuttle System – Specifications – Dexion Pallet Racking

The Pallet Shuttle, powered by a Lithium Ion battery, allows the high density storage of materials loaded on pallets in a drive-in style racking system. Positioned in a channel, the Pallet Shuttle can pick-up, deposit and re-organise the pallets with great precision.

The Pallet Shuttle will automatically return to its start point as  its battery life starts to diminish, allowing the operative to install a charged replacement battery or replace it with a second unit. This guarantees that the shuttle won’t stop mid-way within the racking system.

The Pallet Shuttle is a CE marked machine produced and assembled in Italy.

The Pallet Shuttle is available in different models, designed for various pallet configurations.

It can be configured for:

  • ambient environment (0 to 45° C)
  • cold environment (-1 to -30°C)
