Amazon has been instructed to leave a 300,000 sq ft warehouse at Gourock, close to Greenock, but is refusing to budge.

Landlord M7 Authentic Estate asked Amazon to depart the warehouse when the lease ended on 1st August 2019.

Amazon experienced been occupying the device considering that 2004.

Amazon at first appealed towards the end of the lease, expressing the landlord hadn’t offered them six months’ notice.

Now the Court of Session in Edinburgh has dominated in the landlords’ favour, declaring that while it was not specifically 6 months’ detect from 7 February to 1st August, it was near adequate and fulfilled the basic prerequisite of 40 times discover.

The choice leaves the foreseeable future of the 400 staff members at the Gourock fulfilment centre unsure.

An Amazon spokesperson reported: “It’s company as common for our consumers and associates and we will be pleasing the courtroom selection.”
